KLKT started as Radio Lockhart by new and old friends at a record store in Lockhart, Texas. Together they formed The Lockhart Arts, Music, and Broadcasting Education Corporation(LAMBEC), a 501C3 non profit, dedicated to ultimately bringing a low powered FM radio station with a focus on fostering education in the broadcasting arts.
